Let There Be Light Commemorative Window Campaign

St. Stephen's is currently engaged in a major renovation of its windows. The original windows comprised painted glass diamond-shaped lozenges with a floral trim. An extensive consultation within the parish determined the color, texture and opacity of the replacement glass: individual donors are invited to work with the artisan and design team in personalizing their window/s.

Guidelines for Commemorative Windows

The following guidelines are for the five full (two panels) windows in the nave of the church.  The recognition for donors for the other windows will be determined separately.

Commemorative Design Committee

A committee to be made up of three people will work with Donors to develop commemorative designs and approving acceptable designs for the commemorative lozenges.  The committee to be made up of the following individuals:  David White, Midge Scanlan, and the Rector.

Donations Qualifying for Commemorative Recognition In Windows

Donations Amounts for Commemorative Recognition in each window panel

  • Individual contributions of $10,000 per panel.
  • Individual contributions of $20,000 per full window (two panels).
  • Group/Family contributions of $10,000 combined per panel.
  • Group/Family contributions of $20,000 per full window (two panels).

Group/Family contributors must agree on a single Commemorative Recognition within the same guidelines as individual contributions.

Commemorative Window Selection

Individual or Group/Family donors may select the window in which their Commemorative Recognition will be placed on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Commemorative Recognition Guidelines

Commemorative Personalization is to be consistent and appropriate to the worship environment of the Church.

Commemorative options for Donors are:

  • Center glass lozenge in lower portion of window with a monogram or approved symbol.
  • A horizontal commemorative glass panel that reflects the color, motif and design of the upper medallion of the specific window that can be personalized to contain a monogram, honorarium statement (ex. “In memory of…”), verse or approved symbol.

Each window will have the horizontal commemorative glass panel consistent with the color, motif and design of the upper medallion regardless as to where a donor desires to add commemorative personalization.
