Financial Update - April 2022

Another Healthy Financial Report!

So far, 2022 has been a strong year financially for St. Stephen’s church.  Annual Giving continues to exceed our budget.  Our spending is about on target though we had some unexpected costs associated with Zoom accounts and hosting and, recently, the purchase of our own equipment for Zoom hosting. Despite these crazy times and all its uncertainties, it is reassuring to know that our church family continues to strongly support St. Stephen’s.

Cynthia Watters has stepped away from the Finance Committee after many, many years of excellent service.  We will miss her and deeply thank her for her dedicated service. In March we welcomed Chree Perkins as a new member of the Finance Committee. Chree is also on the Audit Committee and that cross over is very helpful. Beth Davis, Beth Stanway and Sandy Archibald have developed excellent accounting and bill paying processes which new technology has made possible and this will make the documentation required by the Audit even easier. We had a very good Audit report from the diocese and this should not be taken lightly.  It is a difficult and thorough process that many churches find very challenging. Cynthia Watters and her team of Chree Perkins, Ed McGuire, Paul LaFerriere and Dorothy Hayes serve our church community so well in this important work.

If you have any questions or clarifications, please do not hesitate to contact Carol Haraden. Chairperson, Finance Committee. (contact info in the directory)
