The Cyclists of Bike the US for MS

By Mary McGuire

For the first time since 2019, we hosted the cyclists of Bike the US for MS for two nights. This is a nationwide organization to raise funds and awareness of research and support for those living with multiple sclerosis. They have stayed with St. Stephen's for many years before the pandemic, and we were so happy that they have started riding again and that we could share our wonderful facility.

Fifteen riders, ranging in age from twenty-one to several septuagenarians, made themselves comfortable, mostly in the Parish Hall, and spent the nights of June 2 & 3 before continuing on with their final destination of Seattle. Jane Reilly baked cookies the shape of VT with a mini chocolate chip indicating Middlebury, and Mary McGuire baked some rhubarb coffee cake for them. The group recognized our many years of hosting them with a small award, thanking us for our support. You'll see some photos of Beth Stanway and Mary McGuire accepting the award certificate, the Parish Hall, and Jane's cookies.
