Holy Week at St. Stephen’s

PALM SUNDAY – APRIL 10

8:00 am            Liturgy of the Palms, Holy Eucharist and Luke’s Passion in the nave

10:30 am          Liturgy of the Palms in Triangle Park, Procession, Holy Eucharist and Luke’s Passion

                        We’ll gather in Triangle Park for the blessing of the palms and make our way into the

                        church for this service. Our worship concludes with a dramatic reading of Luke’s

                        Passion account, shifting us into the darkness of Holy Week. This service will also be

                        available on Zoom.

WEDNESDAY IN HOLY WEEK – APRIL 13

12:00 pm          Simple Said Eucharist in the nave

MAUNDY THURSDAY – APRIL 14

7:00 pm            Holy Eucharist with Footwashing and Stripping of the Altar

                        Celebration of the institution of the Lord’s Supper, Mandatum and stripping of the altar.

                        This service will be available on Zoom.

GOOD FRIDAY – APRIL 15

12:00 pm          Ecumenical Good Friday Liturgy (tentative)

                        We’re working with other local church to bring back this tradition of an ecumenical

                        service hosted here at St. Stephen’s. More details to follow.

7:00 pm            Good Friday Liturgy

                        The Solemn Collects, John’s Passion account, Veneration of the Cross and Communion

                        from the reserve sacrament. This service will also be available on Zoom.

HOLY SATURDAY – APRIL 16

8:00 am            Morning Prayer in the Chapel

8:00 pm            The Great Vigil of Easter

EASTER DAY – APRIL 17

10:30 am          Festive Holy Eucharist with choir and brass

                        One combined service to draw our entire congregation together for a joyous celebration

                        of Easter. This service will be available on Zoom.
