2025 Peasant Market Grants

In May 2026, St. Stephen’s awarded grants from the 2025 Peasant Market.

$24,000 in grants were awarded to:

Tri-Valley Transit will use Peasant Market grant funding to leverage government grants to purchase two new 22-seat buses. This collaborative approach for replacing unreliable, outdated buses will enable Addison County riders to access transportation for employment, medical services, grocery shopping, and other vital destinations. This proposal best met all our goals of transforming lives and communities, curbing isolation, using collaborative funding techniques, and providing necessary basic services using innovative delivery methods! Congratulations on being awarded a $10,000 grant!

Charter House Coalition will purchase essential goods for the emergency shelter and the street outreach programs, including food and water supplies, clothing, outdoor gear, medical supplies, safety equipment, prescription co-pays, and transportation.

John Graham Housing and Services will help people stabilize their households, regain autonomy, interact with the community, and seek permanent housing by providing gas cards.

Laundry Love will provide people with free use of washers and dryers, along with detergent and dryer sheets, once a month. A volunteer is on site to chat and offer donated snacks. This program recognizes the dignity of every human being since adults and children need to be clean to boost self-esteem, perform at school, and find and maintain employment.

ACORN’s Farmacy: Food is Medicine Program will be able to continue providing about 65 families with monthly CSA shares in the fall and winter, and will educate participants on how to prepare and enjoy the food in their share.

Welcome Home Kits provide basic housekeeping necessities for low-income or vulnerable persons who are moving into permanent housing. A caseworker may request a kit with bed linens, pillows and blankets, pots and pans, dishes and utensils, cleaning supplies, and other necessary items.
